The Mixed Emerging Technology Integration Lab at UCF’s Institute for Simulation and Training was established in 2006 on Dr. David Metcalf’s stated purpose of inspiring innovation. We bring unique combinations of people, processes, and technology together to create novel, applied R&D as a technology accelerator. We have a track record of launching spin offs of the lab as we complete projects for our partners and sponsors, growing the next generation of leaders and technologists. The interdisciplinary skillsets of our students, faculty, and world class experts promote a “mix” of skill development and applied outcomes. Often our emerging technologies are the leading edge of the larger innovation ecosystem. Applying lean start up methodology to complex problems spans across industry, academia, government, healthcare, and social enterprises. We leverage a variety of disciplines including simulation, mobile, gaming, augmented reality, cybersecurity, blockchain, IoT, wearables, and AI to impact many areas of society with particular focus on health, education, and entrepreneurship.
